Required Education and Experience:High School graduate or GED. Completion of an EEG program. RPSGT OR CPSGT by the BRPT is required.
Preferred Education and Experience:One year of EEG, EKG, or electro diagnostic monitoring experience preferred.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications:Current BLS certification or to be completed within three months of employment.
Summary/Objective;A Polysomnography Technologist performs sleep studies, polysomnograms, on those with suspected sleep disorders.
Set up and maintain sleep lab equipment, including accurate calibration
Review medical record and educate the patient regarding procedures and sleep related disorders.
Apply electrodes and monitor patient continuously during sleep and nap studies, documenting results per established standards.
Maintain lab and work area. Score and document all records.
