Philip Abbosh MD-PhD is currently seeking a post-doctoral research fellow to join the NIH-funded Translational Urologic Oncology Research lab. The lab currently focuses on bladder and kidney cancer and is part of a collegial and vibrant multi-disciplinary group of clinicians and scientists at Fox Chase Cancer Center. Under the guidance of Dr. Abbosh (a physician-scientist), several opportunities for study in tumor immunology, liquid biopsy/biomarkers, mouse models of cancer, CRISPR gene editing, epigenetics, microbiome research, and basic research opportunities can be pursued. All work in the lab is intended for clinical translation and is in various stages of development. Dr. Abbosh is an energetic young investigator seeking candidates with a matching desire to succeed.
Competitive candidates will have a PhD (completed or near completion) in the laboratory sciences, excellent verbal and written communication skills, complete familiarity with the English language, the capacity for independent and productive research, at least one first-author publications in a reputable journal, two personal references, and willingness to mentor and be mentored. Exceptionally strong candidates will be familiar with immunological methods; have basic or advanced informatics skills, and/or experience writing grants. The position is funded for up to 4 years, but candidates are expected to apply for independent during their fellowship.
