Overview and Responsibilities
Oversess the hospital infection prevention programs. Accomplishes management by ongoing
assessment of results of surveillance, data collection and trending information. Implements the
Infection Prevention and Control and Improvement collaborating with the medical staff and hospital
leadership. Intervenes as appropriate to reduce infectors, mitigate of prevent exposure to or spread of
infectious disease to patients, staff and visitors. Maintains responsibility for compliance with state,
local and federal infection prevention, control and accreditation requirements.
Minimum: Three years nursing experience.
Preferred: Two years recent Infection Prevention experience or two years management experience in a health care setting. Certification within 5 years of accepting position.
License description Required: Current Licensed as a Registered Nurse
Nurse Practitioner is NOT required
Preferred: Certification Board of Infection
