We are seeking a principal level embedded software engineer who wants to be part of a team that is helping to provide solutions to our nation’s defense.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
- Perform both technical and management tasks
- Lead a diverse engineering team and suppliers from multiple locations in the design, development, and test of complex embedded software
- Deliver high quality software design, documentation, and implementation that meet defined requirements as well as support products throughout the life cycle
- Collaborate with team members across multiple engineering disciplines including Systems, Electrical, and Firmware
- Be an active participant in bids and proposals for new business
- Active contributor to streamlining department processes and adopting industry best practices
- Other duties as assigned by your supervisor
Qualifications
Mandatory Job Qualifications:
Applicants must have all of the following to be considered for this position:
- BS in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field
- 10-20 years’ experience, including real-time development in embedded systems
- Experienced with leading a software development team in an earned value project environment
- Demonstrated experience with C and C++
- Demonstrated knowledge/experience with microprocessor (single and/or multi-core) and microcontroller-based designs
- Experience with standard software practices such as requirements management (e.g. DOORs), source control management (git, gitlab, github), IDEs, unit testing, and code reviews
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication, and problem-solving skills required
- Ability to obtain DoD SECRET clearance
- Fully skilled in MS programs such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, and Visio
- Travel up to 20%
Highly Desired Job Qualifications:
- Active DOD SECRET clearance
- Previous functional management experience
- Knowledge/experience of DO-178, DO-297, DO-254, and multi-core certification
- Knowledge/experience of Linux, VxWorks, Integrity, DEOS OS
- Experience with any of the standard transports (1/10 Gigabit Ethernet (GbE), PCIe, Fiber Channel, Serial Rapid IO or similar)
- Networking knowledge/experience such as TCP, UDP
- Open Standards such as MOSA, OMS, FACE (ARINC-653, ARINC-661, DDS, TSS)
- Object-Oriented Design and Analysis and modeling languages such as SysML, AADL, UML
