Purpose of Your Job Position

The primary purpose of the position to assist with, help organize, and report on the daily work flow of the print shop.
As a Print Production Assistant, you are delegated the administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability necessary for carrying out your assigned duties. Responsible for quality assurance and customer service to internal/external clients and customers. No direct supervisory functions. This job description does not list all the duties of the job. Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for assisting with sending, printing, proofing, finishing, packaging and shipping all print orders.
Responsible to assist with monitoring and taking inventory of all print shop products and placing orders approved by supervisor, as needed.
Responsible for creating reports and helping identify new/improved workflows for the print shop.
Provide a daily end of shift report to the supervisor.
Follow internal print fulfillment schedules.
Assist with requests for bids, customer quotations, and POs for vendors, as well as production schedules with external vendors.
Rely on experience and judgment to coordinate print and design requests. A degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
Assist with ongoing customer service from receipt of order through completion.
Assist with placing services calls for print production issues.
Assist in monitoring print shop internal processes to ensure maximum efficiency.
Monitor all orders for appropriate QA.
Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources.
Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.
Perform all other business-related duties as assigned.
Works in office areas, training rooms, etc., as necessary.
Moves frequently during working hours.
Works in well-lighted, ventilated areas and around large printing equipment.
Subject to numerous interruptions for any urgent projects.
Subject to work on a tight deadline in keeping up with work demands.
Deals with public and personnel under varying conditions.
Minimal overnight travel (up to 10%) by land and/or air.
Must possess skills in print and graphic design
Must possess creativity, integrity, and demonstrate initiative.
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, and the general public.
Must possess the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures, etc., that are necessary to meet a certain deadline of a project.
Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace.
Some experience with Adobe Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator preferred
Some experience working in a print shop and experience sending, printing and finishing design files that are delivered via PDF is preferred
Ability to work effectively as a member of a team, as well as lead by example
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadline-driven projects in a fast-paced environment.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Provide excellent customer service, including email correspondence and phone calls.
Must be able to read, write, speak and comprehend the English language and possess excellent communication skills.
Must be flexible in the performance of duties as priorities change.
Must be a supportive team member, contribute to and be an example of teamwork and team concept.
Must be willing to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing training practices.
