Float Pool ED Tech/EMT-I/EMT-A, ED Tech with a minimum of 1 - 2 years of current EMT experience in the area of concentration. Position requires floating to multiple hospitals and work a minimum of 48 hours per month. ESP employees can work up to 40/hrs per week. All shifts are 12/hr shifts. Flexible hours and scheduling.

JOB DESCRIPTION: Performs a variety of clinical tasks to better facilitate patient care by directly assisting nursing and physician staff. This includes IV insertion and placement of a foley catheter. Performs and documents vital signs, notifies triage nurse or physician on duty possibly critical patients, communicates as appropriate to waiting room patients. Conducts needs analysis to determine need for supplies based on ED volume. Monitors stock and supplies to ensure par levels are maintained. Ensures that physician orders are accurately entered into the computer. Answers phones and direct inquiries as appropriate. Performs other duties as required.. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High School graduate or equivalent. Graduate of an accredited EMT or Paramedic training program. One year related experience. Previous ED experience preferred. Must have current certification as an EMT-I or Paramedic, CPR, and ACLS if Paramedic. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: (Medium-Heavy) 36-75 lbs, 0-33% of the work day (occasionally); 20-35 lbs, 34-66% of the workday; (frequently); 10-20 lbs, 67-100% of the workday (constantly); Lifting 75 lbs max; Carrying of objects up to 35 lbs; Occasional to frequent standing & walking; Occasional sitting; Close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing); Physical demands may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks; ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS: Factors affecting environment conditions may vary depending on the assigned work area and tasks. EMT-I or EMT- Advanced with a minimum of 1 year acute care experience.
