Position Description:
Responsible for total focus on Process Control Strategies of the GEM manufacturing process.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for reporting food safety issues to personnel with authority to initiate action.
- Performs work in a safe manner, and is responsible for following all safety policies and procedures.
- Responsible for product quality, as outlined in the plant Quality Operational Procedures and related instruction manuals and materials.
- Responsible for adhering to all Good Manufacturing Practices GMP rules. Responsible for maintaining high standards relating to area housekeeping.
- Has the authority to place product on hold and shut machines down.
- Implementation of Process Control Strategies into production. This includes Feed, Flow, Usage, Scrap, Regrind, Color Changes, Order Changes.
- Identify key/critical machine & process variables.
- Implementation of Iconics Software system to monitor the key process variables.
- Work with Quality Manager to develop best practice Work Instructions for implementation into BOS system as well as adhering to SAP standards and activities.
- Introduce or develop new technologies to improve processes
- Drive use of Root Cause Analysis to improve all process.
- Implement effective Data Collection Systems.
- Drive use of statistics, CPK data, quality data, production data to the production floor by posting, instructing, informing associates in assigned areas.
- Knowledge of department’s quality reliability, scrap & safety goals.
- Other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Mechanical skills, exhibited by related mechanical experience, or a minimum of a two-year university or technical school degree or equivalent, or a combination of education and related experience.
- Excellent injection and blow molding processing skills
- Supervisory experience and/or other leadership experience and skills.
- Strong inter-personal and team building skills.
- Familiarity with computer applications.
