# Job Description Summary# Job DescriptionThis position plays a critical supporting role in the marketing activities for the BD Pyxis Patient Care Solutions group, having a suite of products and services designed to enhance patient care, drive clinical safety and efficiency in inventory management and reduce overall costs\. This position reports to the Associate Director of Marketing and is responsible for product management for complimentary products for Pyxis MedStation and Pyxis Anesthesia Station, strategic partner management, and supporting market development activities worldwide\. The Product Manager will collaborate closely with downstream marketing, R&D, product management and supporting functions\.**Responsibilities:**+ Manage and execute on all aspects of the product lifecycle from business case to end\-of\-life, for internally developed and partner products+ Manage key partnership management activities and initiatives+ Develop and demonstrate strong product and market knowledge, specifically related to acute care and non\-acute care hospital operations, including automation and workflows+ Increase or develop deep knowledge of healthcare information technology capabilities in the context of medication management+ Assess financial implications, including profitability and viability, for complex product/market portfolios or segments that have significant organizational impact\.+ Understand and manage lifecycle implications and make recommendations to achieve sustainable economic success for complex products/markets+ Advocate for internal groups ensuring product is easily sold, implemented, adopted and supported+ Work closely with downstream marketing to provide content and drive positioning of new products and services+ Triage incoming customer requests within product enhancement process+ Lead and support business responsibilities in Global Product Development processes+ Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills related to interfacing and establishing relationships with customers and key influencers to ensure that marketing decisions are customer\-driven+ Develop strong product and market knowledge of healthcare inventory management, clinical and operational workflow and financial analysis+ Cultivates relationships and assists with obtaining ongoing feedback from target customers including healthcare providers, strategic partners, manufacturers and field sales and operations teams to support development of winning next\-generation products\.+ Field travel with Sales People, Customers, and Key Opinion Leaders**Qualifications:**+ 3\+ years’ experience in upstream marketing/product management+ Experience in healthcare, medical devices, or biotechnology industries desirable and preferred+ Experience working in B2B companies strongly preferred+ Bachelor's Degree required, Marketing/Business or Technical Field and/or MBA preferred+ Experience in market development desired+ Strong organizational, leadership and interpersonal skills+ Personal characteristics: detail\-oriented, critical thinker, self\-motivated, enthusiastic, resourceful, self\-aware, customer\-focused, interested in professional development/career progression, personable+ Very proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Advanced verbal, written and presentation/communications skills+ Very proficient with business cases and financial analyses**Travel, Location, and Working Conditions**+ Position located in San Diego, CA; relocation assistance is available; near term, work from home is permissible+ Approximately 25% travel required+ Entry to hospitals and other medical facilities is required\. Many facilities have instituted vendor credentialing policies which require vendors to meet defined training, background check and proof of immunization requirements as a condition of entry\.
