Hotwire is looking for a Product Manager for our Lodging team located in San Francisco.
Do you strive to use customer focus and technical savvy to enable travelers to find great deals on hotels? The Lodging Team at Hotwire is responsible for the end-to-end product experience of our biggest line of business. Specifically, the Lodging Team focuses on the logic, content, pricing, and other technical components that make the Lodging product unique—this is our 'special sauce'. Additionally, Lodging manages the supplier experience, managing tools and systems that enable our hotel partners to optimize their use of Hotwire.
You will collaborate with another Lodging Product Manager and our Engineering Manager to build a roadmap of projects for our team of 5-10 engineers. You will interact with a wide variety of partners including Marketing, Supply, Finance, and others, and will balance competing demands for speed of delivery and actionable business outcomes. This role will challenge your analytical thinking, team leadership, and execution, and your success will result in tangible business results.
You care about the customer and are always striving to understand his or her needs. You will work with our analytics and research teams to learn what customers truly want, and our marketing and supply teams to identify areas of improvement in our product-market fit. You will measure success based on customer conversion for the Lodging vertical, and will also monitor gross profit, search speed, and customer happiness.

- Understanding complex logic and process flows
- Analyzing large data sets to find trends and patterns
- Setting and tracking business goals for strategic initiatives
- Writing hypotheses and crafting effective A|B tests
- Developing requirements in the form of agile user stories
- Collaborating with engineers, analysts, designers, and others
- Presenting big ideas in a simple way to a broad audience
Bonus points, you also have:
- Familiarity working with SQL, Hadoop and Splunk
- Strength in data ingestion, aggregation, or visualization
- Experience in the online travel industry
- Knowledge of working with scrum teams in an agile environment
- Understanding of variable marketing channels and attribution
