The Product Marketing Strategist is the primary liaison between the Marketing Team and ONCU’s product and service teams to develop, package, promote, and deliver a superior, competitive product line that meets member needs and achieves organizational goals. This role works closely with product operations, branch, digital, and research teams to continually measure, evaluate and optimize ONCU’s products and services and product marketing performance.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Product Marketing 40%
Collaborates with appropriate internal partners to plan, package, and promote a competitive line of products and services that create demand, meet member need, and achieve organizational goals.
Develops annual product marketing plans, including key activities and budgets to support the retention of existing members and the acquisition of new members.
Serve as a resource expert for ONCU products and services and support the Marketing team in developing effective and compelling marketing content and sales support materials.
Partners with product line and marketing teams to
Implements annual product marketing campaigns and promotions, including planning new product/new release launches and managing the cross-functional implementation of those launch plans.
Collaborates with our employees and members to identify success stories/testimonials of how our products and services have helped improve members’ financial well-being.
Analysis and Research 30%
Researches, analyzes, and identifies target market segments for core products and services.
Plays a primary role in the research and development of core product buyer personas.
Assesses the effectiveness of product marketing programs on an ongoing basis and report back to the business line on recommended changes.
Conducts interviews, surveys, focus groups and other research gathering to gain insights into consumer and member product use and untapped product opportunities.
Product Development 20%
Performs and/or oversees competitive product research to help ensure ONCU products and services remain competitive.
Makes recommendations to evolve ONCU products
Stays abreast of and helps keep the organization updated on savings, loan, investments, and insurance product trends.
Department Management and Operations 10%
Participates in the development and monitoring of the annual marketing budget.
Actively monitors and helps ensure efficient use of organizational and team resources.
Attends and represents ONCU at various internal and external events and activities.
Formulates and recommends plans, policies and processes affecting Marketing operations.
Uses department’s project management platforms to monitor and track department workflow and facilitate marketing materials approval.
Stays abreast of marketing compliance laws and regulations and complete all required annual training.
Maintains a consistent and efficient print and digital filing system of all marketing projects and materials for regulatory and compliance purposes.
Basic knowledge of fundamental marketing concepts, including but not limited to, consumer behavior, social media, planning, segmentation, demographics, content marketing, public relations and direct/email marketing.
Knowledge of market segmentation and product marketing principles and practices.
Demonstrated experience planning and executing product marketing campaigns.
Past experience performing market and/or consumer research and building competitive analyses.
Ability to analyze and apply business intelligence, research, and instinct to formulate product marketing strategies.
Experience collaborating with and understanding product line goals and developing and executing annual marketing plans to achieve them.
Solid preference for working in a collaborative, cross-team capacity to achieve organizational goals.
Strong interpersonal communications skills with the ability to communicate with and present to all organizational levels.
Working knowledge of business and consumer finance principles.
Be adept at handling multiple projects simultaneously and adjusting to changing priorities while maintaining thorough attention to detail.
Possess good business acumen and judgment combined with a strong work ethic and high degree of professionalism and integrity.
Skilled in the operation of personal computer operating system with Internet/Intranet access and appropriate image scanners, printers and applicable software.
Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office Suite, including thorough knowledge of presentation design via MS PowerPoint.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision to plan, implement, and evaluate the achievement of goals, objectives, and work plans.

A Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field and a minimum of 3 years of experience in marketing or managing financial services products.
