High school diploma or GED; supplemented by six (6) months previous experience or training; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Must possess and maintain a valid Florida driver's license. Florida Commercial Driver's License including appropriate endorsement(s) is preferred. Individuals selected for a position must possess valid CPR/First Aid Certification prior to date of hire and must maintain the certification thereafter. Possession of Florida State Department of Health Forty (40) hour Childcare Certification is preferred upon hire. Position incumbents not in possession of the Forty hour Childcare Certification must register and complete the Certification within 60 days of employment, obtain the Certification within two (2) months of hire date, and maintain the Certification thereafter.
This is position performs under continuous supervision in assisting Recreation Leaders in coordination, implementation, supervision and evaluation of Recreation programs. This includes games, special events and other recreational activities in a recreation area with all age groups. Duties and responsibilities may include: Prepares venue(s) to host activities and programs, both on-site and off-site. Ensures safety of venue and participants at all times. Maintains accurate and timely reports, submit all reports to supervisor. Ensures venues return to pre-program status at conclusion of activities. Working knowledge of programs and activities for senior citizens. Ability to interact in a positive manner with elders. Ability to oversee a variety of group programs.
