We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Program Coordinator.
In this role, the successful candidate is responsible for providing moderate to advanced range of program coordination functions related to the Educational programs of the Center for Cognitive Neurology, the coordinator will have a key role in the enhancement of dementia related research education and training opportunities for people with dementia, their care partners, students, scientists, and clinicians. The coordinator is responsible for supporting, promoting and coordinating the implementation, development, delivery and evaluation of the community and professional research education components of the NYU Alzheimer's Disease Center (ADRC) and the NYU Center of Excellence on Brain Aging (CEAD).
- Professional Education- The coordinator will support creative educational activities with a primary focus on providing research experiences to promote the development of future researchers to improve interventions for maintaining cognitive health and avoiding dementing disease conditions.
- Community Education- The coordinator is an important liaison and facilitates engagement between the ADRC and people with dementia, their caregivers, and both the professional and local lay community so that information may be communicated bi-directionally, particularly in diverse populations. Augment participant and community engagement.
- Communication- Develops materials and presentations for training and educational sessions, departmental seminars and other activities. Develop, design, write and edit brochures, reports and other educational materials for publication and distribution. Provide direct liaison with internal (e.g. ADC Cores, Office of Medical Education, Continuing Medical Education, Nursing Education) and external community partners (e.g. Alzheimers Association, Caring Kind).
- Program coordination -Provides moderate to advanced coordination for program activities that includes but not limited to: coordination of programs while working/communicating with internal and external parties to organize and coordinate the various components needed to initiate, run and conclude educational activities. Might evaluate and make recommendations based on analyses, observation and or feedback. Develops program schedules. Assists in developing long range education program plans, goals, objectives, policies and procedures.
- Reports -Prepares and reviews documents independently and generates status/progress reports for ongoing and pending programs. Plans, arranges, outlines and drafts letters, memos, agendas presentations and reports.
Responds to more complex correspondence and refers the more complex issues with recommendation to supervisor. Follows protocols as defined by the grant and Medical Centers policies and procedures. Collect data for program progress and/or statistical reports for concerned administration and sponsors.
- Project/Program Support - Assists in the recruitment, hiring and training of clerical staff, assistants, trainee and volunteers for the program.
- Scheduling & Coordinating -Organizes and coordinates schedules, activities and special events. Coordinates conference preparation activities (checking and coordinating the logistics and technical support, making food and beverage arrangements, etc) and other related activities. May assist in special events planning including ADRC Development project selection, Continuing Medical Education sessions, and annual CCN Research Day.
- Participates in special projects and performs other duties as required.
To qualify you must have a Bachelor's degree in business administration, health care administration or related field. Minimum of four years of progressively responsible related experience including program/project coordination or equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficiency in using various Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, Access, Power Point and Outlook. Familiar with Internet applications. Effective oral, written, communication, interpersonal skills. Ability to interface effectively with all levels of management and must work and communicate effectively with both internal and external customers. Ability to work within a team environment as well as independently. Time management skills and ability to work well under pressure. Ability to multi task and project manage.
Project/Program management experience preferred. Experience with community and/or professional education programs and trainees preferred.
