Job Summary:Provides overall clinical direction and oversight for the Center, the emergency domestic violence shelter for women and their children in Montgomery County, Maryland. The Program Director will ensure provision of services, quality control and the therapeutic milieu. Serves as the chief liaison with Montgomery County DHHS.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Directs and coordinates all aspects of the emergency residential shelter program including hiring, training and evaluation of staff, in compliance with the FSI policies, procedures and organizational values. Provides direct supervision to Residential Services Coordinator, Clinical Therapists, Client Case Coordinators, Nurse, Office Manager and Administrative Assistant.
- Provides orientation and ongoing training to clinical staff on domestic violence survivor empowerment and the staff role in ensuring a safe and healthy living environment for residents. Responsible for ongoing assessment of training needs for all staff and scheduling appropriate training opportunities.
- Provides weekly supervision for clinical staff and coordinates case consultation meetings and other staff meetings according to a regular schedule.
- Oversees the daily functioning of the Center, including client admissions, client daily activities, program terminations, enforcement of rules and regulations, and the maintenance of a healthy living environment. Ensures a healthy program milieu in an atmosphere of survivor empowerment. Responds to client complaints and coordinates community meetings on a regular basis.
- Monitors program budget to ensure that spending guidelines are met, assists in identifying and applying for resources and funds for program expansion.
- Responsible for development, implementation and revision of policies and procedures. Serves as chief liaison and contact person with Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) Abused Persons Program, as well as County law enforcement and the judiciary.
- Ensures that clinical records, progress notes and logs, and critical incident reports are complete, timely and accurate. Oversees accuracy of required program reports on service delivery and client dispositions, including customer satisfaction.
- Develops and strengthens relationships with community groups working against domestic violence in the State and County. Participates in efforts to identify and obtain community resources to support the program and to raise awareness of domestic violence prevention.
- Participates in Division Leadership Team and FSI Leadership Team meetings and activities. Ensures that corporate compliance, quality assurance, critical incident reporting, emergency preparedness and strategic planning issues are addressed.
Master’s degree in social work, counseling, psychology or closely related field, with a minimum of two years of relevant clinical supervision experience, a portion of which should be in partner abuse or domestic violence. Must possess a current Maryland license at the independent clinical practitioner level (LCSW, LCSW-C). Must maintain flexible work schedule with some on-call coverage on evenings and weekends. Strong leadership and team building skills are essential. A current, valid driver’s license with three points or fewer, proof of auto insurance (which meets minimum MD state requirements), and a current driving record are also required.
