Provide Project/Systems Engineering services for the T-45 Goshawk projects in several functional areas for the JSSA (Joint Systems Support Activity) integration and associated software development. The Project Engineer is responsible for overall project leadership and management including detailed planning, risk management, project scheduling, obsolescence upgrade development, test, and fleet release.
Essential Job Functions:
Plan and manage resources to meet project cost and schedule performance objectives, as well as, leading a diverse team through requirements definition, product design and implementation, testing, and product introduction to the fleet.
Perform cost, schedule, and performance monitoring and tracking and implement corrective actions when needed using Earned Value Management (EVM) tools and processes.
Interface regularly with Program Manager for Air (PMA-273) (sponsor), Class Desk, Chief Engineer, and Mission Systems IPT Leadership to provide overall project status.
Report directly to the JSSA IPT Lead, IPT Chief Systems Engineer, and Block Lead in project execution.
Provide leadership, direction and guidance to project personnel. Plans, coordinates, and supports program Systems Engineering Technical Reviews (SETRs) (e.g., System Requirement Review (SRR), Critical Design Review (CDR), etc.).
Adhere to JSSA product life-cycle development activities in the project SIMP
Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
A Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 5 years of experience is required. A Master's degree with 4 years or a PhD and 2 years of experience will also be considered.
Must have an active Secret clearance and be able to maintain the clearance for the duration of employment.
Must have the ability to lead and direct advanced mission systems projects within the JSSA IPT, including management of complex naval aircraft/weapons systems engineering functions.
Must have working knowledge of aircraft avionics systems engineering, including familiarity with Naval Aviation Acquisition process.
Must be able to speak/write clearly and professionally.
Must have working knowledge and experience in the handling and distribution of classified material are required for the position.
Experience and working knowledge of Navigation Systems, specifically Required Navigation Performance (RNP) Area Navigation (RNAV), Tactical Navigation Systems, GPS, INS, and aircraft mission computers.
Experience and working knowledge of Mission Planning Systems.
Ability to work independently as well as within a team.
