Permanent position: San Jose based Commercial HVAC company is looking for experienced project engineers. The company is growing at an incredible rate and is looking for employees that want to grow there too. Ideal candidate has some years in commercial HVAC construction. Will work to assist Project Executive in design, scope, bid proposals, job walks, pricing, field coordination, customer relations, and engineering of full life cycle construction projects throughout Silicon Valley. Ideal candidate should be aware of the area, but relocation is available for the right candidate.
Responsibilities for the Project Engineer
•Assist PM with preliminary designs and scope of work
•Compile project submittals from the appropriate vendors and coordinate with purchasing agent to ensure correct pricing, delivery date, and other specifications
•Direct involvement with on-site field personnel as needed
•RFIs, submittals, contracts, change order requests, and other documentation
•Open bid #, maintain/update folders
•Maintain procurement log, consolidate drawing sets and submittal changes
•Review start-up, organize and review submittals for pre-job meeting
•Ensure close-outs are completed
•Take materials (drawings, submittals, etc.) to customer
•Set-up meetings for PM and attend as needed
Requirements for the Project Engineer
•2-4 years as HVAC Mechanical or Project Engineer
•Organized, excellent verbal and written skills, good with time management
•Strong communication skills
•Ability to problem solve in the field and in the office
