UIC Municipal Services is seeking a competent and well-rounded Project Manager to assist with various projects on the North Slope. UIC Municipal Services (formerly UIC Lands, LLC) is based in Utqiaġvik, and was originally formed to promote and capitalize on the responsible development of natural resources within the boundary of UIC’s 220,000 acres of land in the vicinity of Utqiaġvik, Alaska. Project Manager
Summary: As a key member of the project management team, the Project Manager will report to the General Manager. The Project Manager will provide leadership to the project management and field management teams for the project(s) in which he/she is assigned to. The Project Manager will be responsible for day to day operations as they relate to financial and production of the assigned project. This will include direct responsibility for production, schedule adherence, job costing and billing. Additionally, the Project Manager will assist the Business Finance Manager in development and verification of monthly owner billings.
Essential Functions:
• Plan, schedule, or coordinate project activities to meet deadlines.
• Oversee and direct all office and field staff to meet project deliverable dates and deadlines.
• Prepare and submit budget estimates, progress reports, or cost tracking reports.
Inspect or review projects to monitor compliance with safety codes, or other regulations.
• Inspect or review projects to monitor compliance with environmental regulations.
• Plan, organize, or direct all project activities outlined in each contract.
• Prepare contracts or negotiate revisions to contractual agreements with various subcontractors.
• Develop or implement quality control programs.
• Ensures timely and accurate analysis of work in progress and job performance.
• Takes a hands-on lead position in improving and maintaining contracted activities.
• Reviews and oversees job cost reporting and accounting functions of the Project.
• Review all month end closing activities including job cost variance reports, budget sheet reconciliations and overhead cost allocations and expenditures.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients and their representatives so as to identify their needs and seek a full range of business solutions.
• Interpret and advise management on the financial implications and trends of project activities.
• Provide recommendations to strategically enhance project performance and business development opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable Federal, state and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting.
• Establish and monitor project staff performance and development goals, assign accountabilities, set objectives, establish priorities, and conduct annual performance appraisals.
• Create, update, and maintain project specific quality control reports
• Complete and submit quality control and safety inspection reports
• Document all deficiencies and their corrections
• Other duties as assigned.

• Extensive knowledge of OSHA regulations.
• Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis.
• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
Required Experience:
• PMP Certification Required (Training will be provided)
• 10 years of experience in Construction Management.
• Degree in Business Management desired
• Must have a valid Driver’s License
• Must be familiar with North Slope Borough Municipal Code as it relates to contracting.
• Experience in working with government contracts.
• Experience in working with Native American Communities.
• Experience in working in cold weather climates
• OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety Card preferred

• The employee is frequently required to enter information into computers via a keyboard or other peripheral device.
• Exposure to moderate levels of noise in a well-lit, well-ventilated and fast paced environment.
• Continuously required to sit, hear and/or respond to verbal/audio cues, perform repetitive motions of hands and wrists, and read computer screen.
• Occasionally required to stand or walk.
• Rarely required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, twist, bend, or reach with hands and arms.
• Rarely required to push, pull and/or carry objects up to 10 pounds.
Environmental Conditions:
• The work environment is that of a typical office setting.
• In a large building in an urban setting.
• May occasionally be on a project site.
• May occasionally travel to rural areas.
All employees must pass Non-DOT pre-employment drug screening and follow all UIC Non-DOT Drug and Alcohol Testing Program guidelines and requirements.
If working on a DOT project, employees must pass a DOT pre-employment drug screening and follow all DOT Drug and Alcohol Testing Program requirements.
Authorized Driver Requirement: Employee must have a valid driver’s license and three (3) year clean driving record. Employee must follow all Authorized Driver Policy and Procedures regarding approved vehicle usage.
