This is a “Project” position designed to support project work for a limited duration. While the exact duration of the project is yet to be determined, we currently anticipate a period of 3-5 years based on business needs at the present time following which you will separate from the Company. It is important for you to understand that this period may be shortened based on business needs in the future at which point you will separate from the Company. It is also important for you to understand that this employment is of a limited duration and that you will not be entitled to separation benefits under any PSEG plan at the time you separate from the Company. Director Level approval and waiver will be required for you to bid on other PSEG opportunities within the first 3 years of assignment. From year 4 through the end of your assignment, Director level approval and waiver will not be required. If your assignment ends prior to the anticipated timeframe based on business needs, you will be allowed to bid on other PSEG opportunities without Director level approval from the time you are notified your assignment will be ending through the end date of the assignment.
This is a multi-level growth series position (Grade Level 29/30). The title, grade level and incentive target assigned to the successful candidate will be determined by assessing skills and related experience, learned through the interview process.
Responsible for the full lifecycle management of multiple utility scale solar projects - landfill, brownfield, rooftop, canopy, and battery storage - from time of assignment through close-out and turnover to Solar 4 All® operations to ensure that project objectives are achieved safely, reliably, and within approved budgets and schedules.
Retain all accountability for all aspects of project execution including cost and schedule performance. Lead and direct the project teams. Support business case development for new projects - identify scope, estimated cost and schedule in support of internal and external project approvals. Maintain project plans and schedules, conduct project reviews, resolve issues and get required associates and groups involved to ensure that the project plans are professionally and comprehensively planned and executed.
Represent the Company with the General Public and Public Officials and Planning/Zoning Boards and other Regulatory bodies, including testimony, as required, to gain necessary project approvals. Ensure full compliance with all environmental regulations and statutes. Ensure that jobsite safety plans are prepared for all projects, tailboards are conducted, and JSOs are prepared. Lead and direct all aspects of the assigned projects including scope development, project estimating, funding approval, engineering and design, scheduling and cost analysis, licensing and permitting, outage planning, material management, scope management, preparation of specifications and bids, procurement of material and services, construction, EH&S, and commissioning from the project’s initial planning/ development phase, through design, construction, commissioning, turnover to delivery operations, and close-out phase.
- BS in engineering, business, construction-related field, or equivalent experience
- Minimum of six years of experience in utility scale solar PV project permitting, construction, interconnection, and proven experience managing multiple solar projects
- Working knowledge of solar project regulations
- Five or more years of utility operations and/or construction/project management/project controls experience
- Three or more years of experience managing and/or controlling small to moderate projects
- Working knowledge of Safety Tagging practices and procedures
- Working knowledge of, or demonstrated ability to learn and adhere to, PSE&G safety rules, practices and procedures
- Knowledge of construction-related processes
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience or knowledge of Project Management software including cost and scheduling software, preferably SAP and P3-P6
- Knowledge of applicable solar related regulations and statutes
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
- Working knowledge of WBS structures and schedule creation including experience with Primavera and/or Microsoft Project.
- Advanced degree in Management, Business or Engineering
- Experience with the AlsoEnergy monitoring platform for solar PV systems
- Working knowledge of the PJM Planning processes
As an employee of PSE&G or PSEG Long Island, you should be aware that during storm restoration efforts, you may be required to perform functions outside of your routine duties and on a schedule that may be different from normal operations.
