Public Safety Officer

Montgomery County Community College invites applications for the Public Safety Officer position. The Public Safety Officer is responsible to provide for the safety of all members of the college community and to protect the assets of the College and those of its constituents. Public Safety Officers will strive to promote an atmosphere that is safe and secure and thereby contribute to the academic excellence of Montgomery County Community College.
Work Schedule: Days and hours are Monday through Friday, 3 to 11pm; however, this role requires flexibility and will include some weekends and holidays due to the work rotation of all full-time officers and lead.
*This position requires a pre-employment drug screening test as a condition of employment. This position also requires the selected candidate to submit their PA Child Abuse, PA State Police Criminal Background Check, and FBI Fingerprinting clearances prior to the first day of employment.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One year directly applicable work experience.
- Willing to work a varied/flex schedule to accommodate special departmental workloads and/or shift changes.
- Must possess and maintain valid Pennsylvania motor vehicle operator's license.
- Ability to analyze situations quickly and objectively and to determine proper course of action.
- Must respond to emergency call in.Ability to successfully complete and maintain mandatory First Aid, CPR and AED certifications.
