Sumitomo Rubber North America, Inc. (SRNA) is the sales, marketing, and logistics arm of SRI USA, Inc. Headquartered in Rancho Cucamonga, California, SRNA services its customers from warehouses in California, Texas, Florida, Tennessee, New Jersey, New York, and Illinois. SRI has active plans for aggressive growth which are highly dependent on success in the Americas region (North America and South America). Critical to our success is the development of a world class procurement function that is capable of delivering a competitive advantage to the business. To that end, we are looking to add new and diverse talent to assist in the creation and leadership of a new Americas procurement organization which will be collocated in Rancho Cucamonga with SRNA.
The Category Manager has responsibility to create and drive assigned category management strategies that transform our purchasing organization from actively coordinating globally, to maximizing global scale for Sumitomo shareholders.

At least five (5) years of experience in operational functions, including procurement/sourcing, preferably in a complex manufacturing-oriented organization. A 4-year college degree from an accredited college in Business, or related field. Must be proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook). Must have strong quantitative analytical skills. Must be a detail oriented multitasking person, extremely organized and self-motivated; and be able to provide accurate, useable, and efficient data. Must be an ambitious team player that is eager to go beyond assignment. Must have excellent communication and presentation skills to deal effectively with all levels of personnel. Must be able to stand, sit, move, and use fingers for extended periods of time. May require walking primarily on a level surface, reaching above shoulder heights and below the waist, as well as lifting up to 25 pounds. The work environment is typical of an office environment where the air is controlled and kept at mild temperatures.
