Position Title:
Summary:
The entry level position (Quality Control Technician I) is responsible for executing in accordance to Company Quality systems set forth to comply with 21 CFR part 110 and 111 and Company certifications including NSF, QAI (Organic) and OU Kosher. QC Technicians will perform tasks to meet scheduled production dates. This position is accountable for accurate documentation and ensuring appropriate testing is performed in accordance to Company procedures and 21 CFR Part 111. QC Technicians report lab supply needs to the Senior Quality Supervisor.
Essential Functions:
- Inspect incoming components upon receipt and inform appropriate personnel of non- conforming results; infestation, damages or other food safety concerns
- Sample incoming components in accordance to Company sampling plan for retain purposes and evaluation or submission to laboratory for analysis
- Prepare composite samples for submission to laboratory for analysis
- Responsible for handling components and avoiding damage or contamination
- Stay abreast of all urgent requests of Raw Materials and Packaging Components as needed by Production
- Prepare lab submission forms
- Support sampling of expired materials
- Support routine environmental sampling in the facility
- Support routine sanitizations through environmental swabbing and ATP testing
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety rules including safe operation of equipment
- Adhere to local, state, and federal regulations including but not limited to OSHA and CFR’s
- Maintain business confidentiality relative to picking, promotions, distribution methods, inventory, customer lists and financial reports
- Utilize equipment/tools properly to increase productivity, efficiency, safety, and report any unsafe conditions/equipment or injury
- Perform other job functions as required

Knowledge/Skills:
- 1 year of GMP manufacturing experience preferred
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to perform simple math calculations and printing legibly on applicable documents
- Understanding the different means to identify raw materials and packaging components
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices & Standard Operating Procedures
- Ability to maintain legible and accurate records
- Communication (oral and written); bilingual (Spanish) a plus
- Problem solving skills
- Attention to detail
- Strong work ethic and sense of urgency
- Excellent attendance
- Strong desire to ensure customer needs are met with the best service possible
- Position requires interfacing with several departments

Education/Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Reporting Relationships:
Quality Control Technicians report directly to the Senior Quality Supervisor, and work with others in the Operations, Inventory, and Quality Department.
