PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
The Retail Quantitative Analyst role is responsible for developing new insights through data analysis to drive profit optimization of Constellation’s customer portfolio. More specifically, the role will assist in orchestrating and executing analysis on large data sets to better enable the retail organization to understand its customers, market trends and internal operations through rigorous data governance, consistent data capture and advanced statistical techniques. This role requires the ability to analyze complex interconnections of data from conceptualization through the presentation of both internal and external data sets.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Developing queries, methodologies, and files for analyzing and presenting relevant data
Continuous monitoring, refining, and executing reports/queries and communicating the results to internal partners
Performing data analysis in support of ad-hoc and recurring requests
Evaluation of data quality and integrity in each phase of data analysis
Incorporate new/updated sources of data as appropriate
Bachelor's degree in Applied Mathematics, Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Econometrics, Engineering or other quantitative discipline
Minimum of 2 years’ work experience with data mining/analysis techniques, predictive modeling, and business metrics
Expert-level use of Microsoft Excel (including advanced features and techniques) and Microsoft PowerPoint
Knowledge of databases, querying large datasets or writing SQL statements
Python experience or a demonstrated ability to learn Python quickly is highly preferred
Ability to understand and build data relationships prior to performing data analysis
Strong ability to communicate and collaborate with others
The analyst will work closely with members of the Sales, Finance, IT, and other departments. The ideal candidate will have a well-rounded background in both Statistics and Business. Ideally the candidate will possess the following skills: technical, quantitative/statistical and communication.
