May be assigned to work in any of three areas of Radiology Services. These areas include the Radiology Attendant, Clerical positions, and as an assistant to a Radiologic Technologist. Any of the three positions will report directly to the Supervisor of the area where they are assigned. Performs related duties as assigned.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Shall be attending or recently graduated from SBU Radiologic Technology two (2) year allied health program to become eligible for registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT). Must have passed the ARRT board within 60 days of graduation.
- Certifications: Current CPR certification.
- Other: Working Conditions, Mental and Physical Requirements: This individual must be capable of: manipulating x-ray equipment, including mobile and other equipment; carrying cassettes; selecting and manipulating exposure factors; evaluating radiographs; lifting, moving, and transporting patients; continual standing and walking; recognizing emergency situations; adapting to stressful situations; communicating effectively. Equipment Used: This individual should be proficient in the use of: Radiographic Equipment, Radiographic Processors, Computers.
