Texas Oncology is searching for a full-time Reference Lab Liaison. This position will ideally work out of the Dallas or Austin area. The Precision Medicine Laboratory Reference Testing Liaison for Texas Oncology will be responsible for establishing and maintaining test nomenclature within the LIS, reference laboratory testing processes, respond to reference laboratory requests for medical necessity information needed for prior authorization, billing and appeals, and other duties related to collaboration with our reference laboratory partners. The PM Reference Testing Liaison will also be a point of contact for the laboratory and clinical staff for inquiries regarding test options for different reference laboratories and can advise on similarities and differences for the different options. The PM Reference Test Liaison will, along with the laboratory managers, work with outside vendors on test menu, patient billing practices, etc. This person will report to the VP of Precision Medicine.

Responsibilities for the Precision Medicine Reference Testing Liaison for Texas Oncology will include the following:
A. Routine QA/QC of LIS dataease for reference testing, including but not limited to the following:
1. Valiation of name, host code and CPT codes for reference laboratory testing
2. Establishment of a process for adding new tests to the LIS and removing discontiued tests from the LIS
B. Training other laboratory personnel on the ordering process for external reference laboratory tests
C. Routine QA/QC of Insurance Mapping within the LIS and across all sites within TxO
D. Review and provision of additional medical necessity information as requested by the reference laboratory for:
2. Billing Inquiries
3. Prior Authorization
E. Collaborate with different reference laboratory vendors regarding their test offering and understand and explain to TxO clinical staff similarities and differences between the different options
F. Other responsibilities as assigned relative to the development of Texas Oncology's Precision Medicine Initiative
Employee must be able to work collaboratively, as part of a team, and independently to advance Precision Medicine projects and deliverable
Qualifications for Precision Medicine Laboratory IT Liaison for Texas Oncology
-Minimum requirements include a bachelor’s degree in science/health care, Medical Technologist, or Medical Assistant
-Candidate should also be familiar with working in a physician practice environment with some experience with their EMR, billing and test ordering processes
-The ideal candidate will also have familiarity with various tests related to precision medicine
-Candidate should possess strong verbal and written communication skills
-Annual salary is commensurate with education and experience
