It’s our passion.Primary PurposeProvides advanced level nutrition care to patients at risk. Trains others in the practice and principles ofnutrition therapy. Participates in institution/department initiatives for the purpose of improvedpatient care including quality assurance, performance management, practice guideline andcompetency development projects and committees.Minimum SpecificationsEducationÂ¿ Must have a Bachelor's degree in Food and Nutrition.Â¿ Prefer MasterÂ¿s degree in Food and Nutrition.ExperienceÂ¿ Three years of related dietetic experience in a hospital or comparable institutional setting.Equivalent Education and/or ExperienceÂ¿ May have an equivalent combination of education and/or experience in lieu of specific educationand/or experience as stated above.Certification/Registration/LicensureÂ¿ Must be a registered dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) of the Academy ofNutrition and Dietetics (A.N.D.).Â¿ Must be licensed to practice dietetics by the Texas Board of Dietitians.Â¿ Must show evidence of one of the following or obtain within six months from date of hire: Â¿ Certified Nutrition Support Clinician with the National Board of Nutrition Support Certification(NBNSC). Â¿ Certified Diabetes Educator with the National Certification Board of Diabetes Educators. Â¿ Certified in one of the following: Pediatric Nutrition, Renal Nutrition, Oncology Nutrition orGerontological Nutrition with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) of the Academy ofNutrition and Dietetics (A.N.D.).Skills or Special AbilitiesÂ¿ Must be able to demonstrate an advanced knowledge of nutrition and support practices.Â¿ Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with departmental personnel,hospital staff, and vendors.Â¿ Must be able to demonstrate basic computer skills with a working knowledge of various softwareprograms and electronic medical record charting.Â¿ Must be able to demonstrate patient centered/patient valued behaviors.
