The Regional Logistics Manager - SCS is responsible for leading the regional routing centers as well as all strategic Route Planning activities. Ensures logistics teams are delivering exceptional service to the field teams they support. The position works to drive improvements in key transportation metrics such as stops per hour, variable cost per stop, and planned hours and miles compared to performed. Facilitates improvement initiatives such as district re-routes and acquisition integrations while driving efficiencies within each center. Ensures each initiative and task is aligned within the organization and supportive of our core values and culture (integrity, accountability, one team one goal, continuous improvement, customer first, enjoy your work).
Regional routing centers:
Lead the team members across the assigned routing centers.
Work with direct reports and indirect reports to improve performance and skills of team members.
Maintain strong relationships with operational leaders to ensure alignment with strategic initiatives.
Works proactively with all functional stakeholders (SQ, LQ, Plant, Sharps Management, Customer Experience, IS, Specialty Waste, etc.) to meet all customers’ expectations.
Analyze transportation reports to ensure regional transportation goals are being met. Proactively follow up where needed.
Support and reinforce our organizational core values across each assigned team and stakeholder. Strategic Transportation Initiatives:
Lead strategic reroute projects across the US and Canada for the SCS business.
Train and support the Logistics Planning Managers on the territory planning technologies used in the SCS business.
Monitors route and work productivity, reports on trends, and recommends changes to continually improve productivity and routing efficiency. Works closely with transportation team on implementation of recommended changes.
Prepare and analyze transportation reports to identify areas of opportunity and follow up with the appropriate stakeholders.
Continuously improve productivity by establishing goals for stops, containers, and miles per route day and route hours.
Lead cross-functional teams to deploy standard operating procedures and process improvements.
Participate and lead in the development of requirements as well as test software enhancements that affect the SCS transportation business.
Analyze highly complex production and processes. Utilize common process improvement techniques to analyze operations. Make recommendations based upon analysis to further business goals.
Cover all other duties as assigned.

Establishes and communicates performance standards and objectives.
Monitors operations and work of all team members.
Keeps staff informed of current problems, changes, and new developments in the department and company by conducting professional, organized, and participative meetings.
Ensures compliance with all Federal, State, Local regulations and Company policies and procedures, communicates issues and updates to transportation team.
Oversees and supports compliance with DOT requirements.
Monitors and ensures that Team Members are performing their functions safely and productively. Makes recommendations to prevent accidents or Hours of Service issues.
Education equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree, or the equivalent in related work experience. BS in a Transportation or Logistics related field preferred
Five or more years of progressive waste or equivalent industry experience in a routing capacity. Demonstrates the ability to manage people in a transportation environment.
Demonstrates the ability to provide safe and regulatory compliant work conditions for all Team Members.
Demonstrates knowledge and the ability to stay abreast of applicable regulations and codes, as they apply to the waste industry and those specific to area of responsibility.
Demonstrates sound knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Must be able to input, monitor and manipulate data within these applications. Must have routing capability and/or direct past experience.
Past experience utilizing Roadnet Logistics Suite, Descartes or equivalent routing software preferred.
