Manage a regional staff of Area Managers, who manage Account Reps taking photos and providing lot services to Automobile Dealerships, ensuring area monthly targets are met. ROM has P&L responsibilities managing gross profit and human capital targets for your Region. Additionally, lead customer conversations regarding service and productivity. Coach and mentor Area Managers to manage Account Rep performance and facilitate staffing and replacement coverage as needed. ROM is ultimately responsible for everything that does and does not happen within their region, exhibiting the ability to fix problems and actively circulate within their Region creating an adaptive and efficient team.
Communicate ongoing personnel, unit and system issues for resolution, competitive environment information to management, and corporate directives, policies, and procedures to field staff.
Ensure Area Managers staff employees appropriately to complete customer visits on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis to adhere to a profitable, scheduled, and mapped territory.
Conduct area reviews as seen fit, to include on-site audits, and computer audits (including, but not limited to, analysis of picture quality, picture penetration, and adherence to contractual obligation (number of visits, staging, etc.))
Ensure through Area Managers that all Account Reps have the necessary equipment, software, and customer awareness to successfully service accounts.
Create processes and systems for Area Managers to follow that enable them to be successful, removing roadblocks and non-value add work to maximize revenue and customer satisfaction.
Create a regional culture that reduces Account Rep turn and provides career opportunities for high achieving Area Managers, Regional Trainers, Sr. Account Reps and Account Reps.
Ensure Area Managers handle new dealer launches well; schedule/plan Account Rep activities to handle launch; adjust local services to accommodate personnel needs related to launches/volume issues.
Summarize and communicate transactional and financial information in such a way that enables Executives to make decisions based on your findings and recommendations.
Travel to/from customer locations (automobile dealerships, etc.), to conduct spot audits and coach Area Managers in performance management and customer satisfaction.
Troubleshoot process and quality issues as necessary, demonstrating the ability to solve problems before they surface to Sr. Leadership level.
Able to analyze staffing needs for new customer and large dealer group launches.
Communicate effectively with all levels of leadership.
Essential skills, knowledge, and abilities:
Associate degree (or higher) in business, marketing, or a related field required. Bachelor’s degree preferred, or extensive relevant field experience required.
5 years of outside sales and/or service experience, with one or more years of supervisory experience managing managers, preferably in the technology, computer, or automobile fields.
Ability to adapt to new and unfamiliar customers, locations, and work conditions quickly and comfortably.
Knowledge of leadership within dealerships strongly preferred
Advanced personal computer skills including electronic mail, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics. A thorough understanding of web-based tools and navigating the world wide web.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to travel within the markets of responsibility with overnight stays included. Ability to travel to the markets in the most efficient way such as driving or flying whichever is most time and cost efficient.
Will have to live in a state that is in one of the area markets of responsibility.
