Dental Hygienist Duties

• Perform dental hygiene services, mouth screenings and check oral history, dental prophylaxis remove plaque scaling and root planning
• Identify conditions such as gingivitis, dental carries and periodontal disease
• Educate patients of all ages on oral hygiene and good brushing techniques
• Maintain patient private documents and dental charts
• Take X-rays and assist dentist with appropriate treatments for various diseases including oral cancer

Qualifications for a Registered Dental Hygienist

• Graduated from an accrediated College of Dental Hygiene
• Registered Dental Hygienist in the state of practice
• 1 year of experience
• Excellent computer and interpersonal skills
