The Plastic & Reconstructive Institute provides care to patients with complex wounds & conditions through a multidisciplinary team approach. Our team consists of 10 physicians with various specialties that include plastics, wound, vascular, and podiatry. We have support specialists consisting of RNs, MAs, RTs, and administrative staff who see an average of 1500 patient visits per month. Our Institute promotes highly coordinated care through our interdepartmental approach which includes our inpatient wound / ostomy team, the outpatient department, and the hyperbaric unit. With the development of our Institute Service Line program we are able to promote a decreased length of stay, reduced readmissions rate, and coordinate safe discharges. We are an organized team focused on our patients and treatment of their wounds through advanced technology and innovation.
The Hyperbaric Medicine Center is a thriving program at the Plastic and Reconstructive Institute. It currently consists of six monoplace chambers serving both adult inpatients and outpatients. We have the capacity to provide hyperbaric oxygen therapy to critically ill patients, those needing flap or graft preservation, and medical emergencies such as carbon monoxide poisoning among many other CMS approved indications. We have partnered with Phoenix Children’s Hospital and Cardon Children’s Hospital in the past to provide care for pediatric populations including infants. The unit is open from 0530 - 1900, treats 18-20 patients per day and is staffed by 3 RNs, 3 certified RRTs, and a CNS with advanced HBO certification and a national wound certification. An HBO certified physician along with HBO certified NP’s supervise all hyperbaric therapies.
The schedule for this position is three 12 hour shifts (0530-1800 and/or 0630-1900) Monday-Friday, rotating days.
The staff also rotates on call during all closed hours, weekends and holidays for emergent situations.

This position assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and documents nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and in accordance with standards of professional nursing practice utilizing the framework for professional nursing practice and development. This position is accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by self or others who are under their direction. This position utilizes specialized knowledge, judgment, and nursing skills necessary to assess data and plan, provide and evaluate care appropriate to the physical and developmental age of assigned patients.
Must possess a current, valid RN license in state of practice, temporary/interim RN license in state of practice, or compact RN licensure for current state of practice. BLS certification is required. Additional certification or continuing education may be required based on area of practice.
Relates throughout the interview process the experience, training and education needed to perform the job. Experience in the clinical area for which he or she is applying is desired. Must maintain clinical performance competencies appropriate to the area in which they work as demonstrated through annual validations. Banner Registry and Travel acute care positions require a minimum of one year experience in an acute care hospital setting. Experience must include working in an acute care setting within the past 12 months as a Registered Nurse in the specialty area. Banner Registry and Travel physician practice positions require a minimum of one year experience as a Registered Nurse in a physician practice or an acute care setting.
Bachelors degree preferred.Professional certification preferred.
