Job Summary:
Perform direct patient care within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act, with emphasis on the diagnostic Imaging patient.
* Use therapeutic communication in daily practice
* Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment
* Implement and direct care, using the nursing process with emphasis on the needs of individual patients
* Evaluate the effectiveness of the nursing process
* Provide emotional support of the patient and significant others to make informed choices regarding health care
* Delegate tasks to the appropriate caregiver
* Participate in Diagnostic Imaging specific initiatives and process improvement
* Promote a supportive Diagnostic Imaging environment
* Provide supervision of new employees, patient care assistant, vocational nurses, nurse technicians, student nurses and/or nurse externs
* Maintain high quality (age specific) care for infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients, as assigned
* Support the Mission, Vision and Values of the organization
* Supervise the daily operation & activity of Diagnostic Imaging
* Assist and direct staff to perform their duties efficiently and without unproductive delays
* Perform staff evaluations, coaching and counseling sessions
* Assess and maintain competency of staff as related to job descriptions
* Coordinate schedules between hospital departments, physicians and patients to complete diagnostic procedures in a timely manner
* Assist manager with fiscal planning, management of department and evaluation and purchase of capital equipment
* Implement and revise policies and procedures
* Resolve conflicts for both internal and external customers
* Promote a supportive environment that encourages teamwork

Position Requirements
* BSN required within 24 months
* Radiology &/or Specials experience strongly preferred
* Critical Care experience considered
* Experience with all age groups and patient demographics
* Current ACLS and BLS Provider through American Heart Association
* PALS required within 6 months
