The position of Renewable Energy Energy Engineer is a unique role that encompasses a variety of disciplines. As a Renewable Energy Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting third party engineering and owner's advisory engineering efforts in all scales of solar, wind, storage, and other renewable generation. Potential projects range from greenfield development to operational generation facilities. Performing engineering reviews of energy projects including resource assessments, technical analysis of models, and potential performance-related issues as part of overall project due diligence is a key facet of this role.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES & FUNCTIONS
Responsible for the performance of resource and generation analysis for proposed renewable projects.
Responsible for the assessment of wind and solar resources.
Responsible for modeling of potential storage systems and their performance.
Responsible for analyzing financial and processing models of pro formas from a technical standpoint.
Responsible for providing technical documentation in support of proposed projects.

Minimum: 3+ years of experience in a within an engineering capacity in the renewables sector of the energy industry.
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Meteorology, Computer Science or related field required.
Thorough understanding of renewable resource and performance design tools, energy estimation software, modeling tools, and principles of renewable energy assessments.
Experience performing a similar function in an independent analysis capacity strongly preferred.
Established knowledge in renewable generation project analysis.
Possesses advanced MS Office skills.
Possess working knowledge of job-related softwares and tools including Matlab, Python, PVsyst/SAM, etc.
Possess excellent data analysis, data management, and research skills.
Ability to translate analysis findings into well-written reports and other technical writing pieces.
Ability to communicate fluently in English (written and verbally).
Ability to perform job duties in a rapidly changing environment with competing priorities and sometimes under stress.
Must possess the minimal experience listed above and requirements outlined herein.
Must be able to pass a pre-employment background screening, which includes a drug test (position is subject to ongoing drug testing as a term of continued employment)
Valid driver’s license, acceptable motor vehicle report, and good driving habits
Ability to legally work in the US
This position operates mainly in an office environment. This entails working inside in an office. From time to time, clients and events will require field visits where exposure to extreme weather conditions, fumes, airborne particles, vibrations, dust, electrical charges and other unforeseen exposures may be encountered.
In the performance of the duties and responsibilities of this job, the employee is required to have visual acuity to operate a motor vehicle and view a computer terminal for prolonged periods of time. While at work sites, the employee will be expected to walk and stand. Individual might be asked to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and/or crawl. Individual might be required to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs. in the performance of this position.
Position Type & Working Hours
This is a full-time, project-based position. During a project (durations subject to vary) the hours and schedule will be set by Client company. Project timelines and schedules will be discussed at time of offer.
Overnight travel is not anticipated in the course of this position.
