Permanent position: worldwide leader in the manufacture of passenger car/truck tires seeks a R&D / NVH Engineer (Research & Development / Noise, Vibration, and Harshness) for its R&D Center located just outside of AKRON, OH. This individual will lead engineering research and development (R&D) studies of noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) performance using measurement and simulation techniques in support of tire product development programs. Responsibilities for the Research Engineer
•Focuses on simulation and measurement techniques to predict and assess tire performance in lab and on vehicles
•Pperform measurement and simulation project work to understand & predict fundamental NVH tire performance related to vehicle Structure Borne Noise (SBN);
•Develop and implement associated analysis technologies
Requirements for the Research Engineer
•BS degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related engineering field., with at least 5 years experience in tire R&D.
•Familiarity with tire NVH and associated structural dynamics and control concepts
•Background in vibration and acoustic assessment using simulation and measurement methods
