About the Job
The UPMC Hillman Cancer Center is seeking a qualified entry-level Research Specialist to assist the studies in Tumor Microenvironment Center (TMC). This is a full-time position in cancer related research. The applicant will assistant the development of multiple animal models for tumor immunology studies as well as the maintenances of tumor cell lines.
The applicant is expected to be familiar with basic laboratory animal works. The applicant should have prior experience in a biomedical research and be well versed with basic tissue culture, animal model and molecular biology techniques. Experience/Knowledge in basic techniques in tumor immunology would be extremely helpful. In addition, the applicant will maintain the lab equipment, stocks and order lab supplies.
The position requires organization skills and the ability to perform a variety of tasks consistently and accurately. The ideal applicant will be highly motivated and enjoy working independently as well as part of a small team. The applicant is expected to directly report to the principle investigator in charge of the project. Excellent communication and computer skills are required. The applicant must work well with the others.
Bachelor's degrees in Cell biology, Molecular biology, immunology or another related science field. 2 years of related laboratory experience
