Rig Mechanic – Service / Workover Rigs

Shop- Saint Clairsville, OH and Minot, ND

Our Client, a leading oil and gas service company specializing in well completions, workovers, maintenance and plugging, is seeking full time, experienced heavy-duty rig mechanic. 

**One opportunity based from their Saint Clairsville, OH shop and the other is based from their Minot, ND facility.

Requirements:

• Required 5+ years of experience, workover rig experience is a must
• Must have experience working on Service Rigs - repairing, trouble shoot and preventive maintenance
• Experience operating heavy equipment
• Knowledge of hydraulic and other systems

• Valid driver license with clean MVR is required, Class A or B CDL preferred

• Ability to communicate both oral and written effectively
• Welding experience preferred, but not required
• Willing to travel throughout tri-state area to repair equipment on-site as needed
• High school diploma or GED
• Must comply with all safety policies and procedures

Responsibilities

Maintenance:

• Performs routine scheduled maintenance on all equipment especially service rigs
• Observes mechanical devices in operation and diagnoses problems by sight and sound to resolve issues
• Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts
• Tests, adjusts and repairs equipment to be operational

Repairs:

• Repairs all equipment: hydraulic catwalk, mud pump, power swivel, service rigs, etc
• Repairs or replaces defective parts
• Repairs basic electrical equipment

Safety:

• Comply all with HSE policies and procedures during the course of work
• Ensures full awareness of (and compliance with) requirements of relevant company/customer HSE handbooks, HSE procedures, and emergency procedures

Welding:

• Welds fabricated, cast, and forged components to assemble or repair structural forms such as machinery frames, skids, tanks
• Lubricates and cleans parts
• Requests parts and machines to be ordered as needed
• Other duties as assigned

Licenses and Certifications preferred:

• Well Control School, OSHA 10 hour, H2S, Forklift/Manlift and CPR/First Aid
