Assumes the responsibility and the authority for the ongoing operation of the cardiopulmonary rehabilitation program and Coumadin Clinic.
Collaborates with supervisor and director, develops, implements, and reviews
Standing orders, policies and procedures.
Collaborates with the Program Director, Program Supervisor, and Medical
Director, develops admissions process, Exercise guidelines, emergency
protocols, staffing patterns, and record keeping routines.
Assists with orientation of new staff and patients.
Assists with the development of departmental process improvements
for the continued enrichment of the staff and the program.
Participates in continuing education programs and seminars to maintains current competency in cardiovascular care, pulmonary care, Cardiac/Pulmonary
Rehabilitation related concepts and anticoagulation management and trends.
With staff, selects, maintains, calibrates and repairs equipment.
Develops and implements participant orientation, education, exercise, risk
factor modification and counseling. Maintains confidential, appropriate
participant records in accordance with accepted standards, i.e., TJC,
Involvement in team conferences in conjunction with the Program Director,
Coordinator and the Medical Director for reviewing and reporting participant
progress and problems.
Communicates regularly with participants' primary physicians and the Program
Director regarding progress, problems, and plan of care.
Evaluates program effectiveness by developing and implementing
Quality Improvement monitors. Prepares productivity assessments.
Unrestricted Kentucky RNlicensure. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Prior experience in cardiac/pulmonary rehabilitationis preferred, but not required.
Current CPR/BLS and ACLScertification.
