We are seeking a Clinical Nurse Specialist to: - Come collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to provide excellent care on a 55-bed inpatient unit: Both The American Center 4 and 5 which includes general care, intermediate and critical care levels. - Use your expertise to impact clinical practice to improve patient outcomes by incorporating research into clinical practice, promoting evidence-based practice, and participating in and leading interdisciplinary workgroups. - Interest in high-quality nursing care and quality improvement activities related to the care of patients and their families. Education: Minimum – Master of Science Degree in Nursing Work Experience: Minimum – Three (3) years of relevant clinical nursing experience, including expertise in Medical/Surgical Preferred – Expertise in Intermediate Care and/or Critical Care nursing Experience in development, implementation, and evaluation of clinical programs Experience in clinical teaching within an education program or as a clinical preceptor/unit teacher Experience in academic medical center Licenses and Certifications: Minimum – RN Licensure in the State of Wisconsin, BLS, and ACLS certification. Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: - Excellent interpersonal communication, problem solving, and conflict resolution skills. - Ability to function with a high degree of independence while actively collaborating with health care members providing care for patients. Physical Requirements: Sedentary: Ability to lift up to 10 pounds maximum and occasionally lifting and/or carrying such articles as dockets, ledgers and small tools. Although a sedentary job is defined as one, which involves sitting, a certain amount of walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and other sedentary criteria are met. W ork Schedule: This is a Day shift position, with eight (8) hour shifts Monday through Friday, occasional off-shifts and weekends. Hours may vary based on operational needs of department.
