Under the supervision of the Wound Care Manager, assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care of patients with wounds, ostomies and continence disorders. This includes complex draining wounds, fistula, pressure ulcers, incontinence, and ostomies. The Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse ensures prompt, efficient, and effective patient care and appropriate delegation of related clerical and program support activities.
BSN and Wound, Ostomy and Continence Certification, and experience preferred
Minimum of three years experience in an acute clinical nursing department, ideally a medical surgical or specialty area
Experience where leadership, integrity, initiative and effective communication skills have been demonstrated
Must have knowledge of adult education theory
Minimum of one year experience as Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nurse preferred
Completion of an accredited Wound, Ostomy, Continence Training Program preferred Current Certification in Wound, Ostomy, and Continence preferred
