Full-Time School Nurse (RN)
The Children's Center for Communication and Beverly School for the Deaf (CCCBSD) is seeking a full time, highly qualified registered nurse (RN) to join the current team of nurses, including our director of nursing. CCCBSD is a therapeutic - educational program serving students - ages 3 to 22 - with communication, developmental, sensory, medical, and physical challenges.
School nurse candidates should have a strong pediatric background and an understanding of children with a range complex medical needs. Ability to work and collaborate as a team and in private school setting is critical.
CCCBSD nurses provide medication administration, plan management, writing/updating of Individual Health Care Plans in conjunction with parents and other health care professionals, and maintenance of a comprehensive school health records system.
CCCBSD nurses provide primary support in the areas of: feeding protocols (tube feeding), faculty training on student care, response to medical emergencies, and supporting private-duty nurses.
In supporting the overall health and safety needs of our school community - the CCCBSD medical team is charged with establishing strong communication and positive relationships with students, parents, and school staff/faculty .
CCCBSD faculty provide a 204 day schedule for students with traditional school vacations and a 6-week summer calendar. This full-time (37.5 hrs/wk), benefited position works under the leadership of a highly skilled and knowledgeable director of nursing.
