Glenhaven Academy, a Justice Resource Institute program, is a private 766 approved residential school for adolescent students ages 12-22 with cognitive, emotional and behavioral difficulties. Glenhaven provides a complete, high-quality educational experience for each student within a safe, therapeutic environment. Glenhaven Academy uses an interdisciplinary approach working together with educational, clinical, nursing, and residential teams.
Our program is seeking a highly organized and professional candidate to serve as a licensed Special Education teacher with experience in teaching high school level Science courses. We offer a collaborative working environment with a strong emphasis on individual professional development. We are seeking candidates interested in a rewarding teaching career in special education.
Must have a BA (MA preferred) and be licensed in Moderate Disabilities (5-12). Must be organized and detail oriented, patient and enjoy working with adolescents. Prior experience working in a classroom setting preferred but not required. Experience teaching science is a plus. The position is Full-time, teaching 216 days a year beginning in September and potentially earlier.
