Under close supervision, provides general assistance for a limited period of time in support of assigned operations. Duties will vary based on work assignments and needs of the department. Current need is within the parks and other facilities.
This recruitment is for a part-time, non-benefited position limited to 919 hours of employment in a fiscal year (July 1 through June 30) with an average of less than 30 service hours per work week. Unclassified hourly employees are paid on an hourly basis and shall not be eligible for benefits nor be subject to Civil Service Rules. Although hourly employees are at-will, they are still subject to all other City policies and procedures.

Functions may include, but are not limited to, the following: assist in patrolling of assigned park area/facility and may assist in enforcement of park/facility rules and regulations; clean, sanitize restrooms, replenish toilet tissue, soap and other supplies; empty waste baskets, collect and disposes of garbage and litter; clean picnic areas and walk ways; clear trail and sweep, rake and pick up trash from grounds; may assist in the inspection of park grounds/facilities; report unsafe or unsanitary conditions; ensure play areas free of debris and dangerous obstructions; perform a variety of routine manual work in the maintenance, repair, and construction of sports fields, irrigation systems, park areas, and related structures; operate a variety of hand and power tools; observe safe work methods; and perform other related duties as assigned.
