SALARY: $ 8.00 per hour
QUALIFICATIONS: A High School Diploma or General Educational Development Certification is preferred; Must have good people person skills and good cooperative working relationships with other employees. Must enjoy working with the public, have good verbal communications skills, and be able to present a professional image. Must enjoy working in an outdoor setting, be physically fit; Ability to communicate effectively, both in English and Spanish, is desirable; Must be able to follow oral instructions. Must be able to perform strenuous work in an outdoor setting. Physical requirements may include lifting or carrying up to 50 lbs. Subject to handling, sitting, walking, standing, bending, reaching and twisting to perform the essential job functions; Will be required to occasionally drive a County owned vehicle and use equipment as needed. Must have a valid State of Texas Driver's License with a good driving record. Weekend, Holiday, and evening work required. References will be thoroughly checked.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: Under supervision of the Park Manager, has the responsibility of greeting park guests, providing the public with general information of the park rules and its amenities. This is a temporary non-supervisory position. Accountable for following the park policies and the collection of "conservation fees" and preparing revenue report at end of shift; Exercises proper customer ethics to remedy disgruntled guests. Directs complaints to proper division manager, or assistant manager. Receives and transmits radio communications with office and other park division staff. Performs other related duties as assigned. This is not a Civil Service covered position.
