As a Senior Network Architect you will develop, verify, and/or validate network design and test network performance. This includes network engineering technical support and subject matter expertise.
Essential Functions/Job Duties:
Provides intermediate to advanced network engineering to include design, development, and
maintenance of Information Technology (IT) infrastructures.
Develop documentation and illustrations to document the current network design
Capable of configuring a Layer 2/3 switch from a non configured state.
Independently maintains configuration, management, and optimizing of routing protocols (e.g. OSPF,
EIGRP, RIP, etc)
Capable of configuring Network Services - NAT, DHCP, DNS, and VPN
Utilize network monitoring tools to analyze network performance, usage (Quality of Service), traffic
flows, data rates/latency, and interfaces. Knowledgeable of computer hardware/software and peripherals to include installation of hardware
components and software.
Written Communications: Operates standard computer based business tools (including but not limited to Microsoft Word and Excel) effectively with a high degree of competency. Independently generates documentation that presents information in a logical manner.
Verbal Communications: Demonstrates excellent clear and concise verbal communication skills.
Skills / Qualifications:
Minimum of 11 years of relevant experience
Experience in computer system networking and OSI layer protocols used in commercial and/or
military communications systems.
Capable of configuring IP Multicast, PIM Dense/Sparse Mode
Experience using Simple Network Protocol (SNMP) and its seven (7) protocol data units:
GetRequest, SetRequest, GetNextRequest, GetBulkRequest, Response, Trap, and InformRequest
Customer Interface Activities: Uses independent discretion to develop an effective client to customer communication process involving stakeholder identification, planned communication, efficient information distribution, and managing expectations.
Work Schedule: 9/80 - The ability to work non-standard work hours and schedules in support of project requirements.
Project Management: Able to efficiently adapt to new priorities. This includes effectively multitasking project resources with an awareness to support changes as needed.
Minimum Education Requirements: High School diploma or GED. Bachelors Degree desired in a relevant technical discipline.
Required Certifications: CCNA, CCNP desired
U.S. Citizenship is required
Candidates must have an active clearance OR the ability to obtain a US Government security clearance, and will be subject to a US security background investigation (i.e. favorable background investigation / credit score). Additional eligibility requirements for access to various levels of classified information may also be required. An active security clearance is highly desirable.
