Job Description:
The early drug discovery team in the Oncogenesis Thematic Research Center (TRC) at Client is seeking a SENIOR RESEARCH ASSOCIATE
(1-year contractor) to assist the high-throughput screen to uncover Client substrates of E3 ligase complex as Client drug candidates for the treatment of various cancers. Specific job duty includes the following: 1) Molecular cloning and generation of stable cell lines;
2) Perform high-throughput screen, quality control and data upload;
3) Utilize CRISPR technology to determine the therapeutic relevance of Client oncology targets. The successful candidate will work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary environment, and will have the opportunity to work closely with discovery project teams and scientists across the Oncogenesis TRC functional areas.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
" Plan and execute scientific experiments related to one or more programs
" Design research protocols in collaboration with the principal investigator
" Assist senior researchers in executing, conducting analysis and reporting results
" Perform high-throughput screen to uncover Client substrates of E3 ligase complex
" Generate stable cancer cell lines via retroviral or lentiviral transduction
" Conduct various cell based assays to characterize drug candidates
" Interprets data, troubleshoots and recommends corrective actions for routine problems
" Familiarity with literature and internal best practices to identify opportunities to improve productivity and quality of work
Skills/Knowledge Required:
" Bachelor or master's degree in a scientific discipline with 3-6 years of wet lab research experience
" Experience with assay development, molecule cloning, flow cytometry, western blot, lentiviral/retroviral infection and stable cell line construction
" Excellent time management, organizational skills and multitasking, and math skills for routine calculation
" Strong communication skills, both written and oral
