The BMS Immuno-Oncology and Cell Therapy Thematic Research Center is dedicated to research supporting development of novel cellular therapies based on two distinct and complementary platforms - Chimeric Antigen Receptor (CAR) and Engineered T Cell Receptor (eTCR) technologies. Our goal is to revolutionize medicine by re-engaging the body's immune system to treat cancer. The Engineered T Cell Biology Team is seeking an experienced and driven immunologist, molecular/cellular biologist or bioengineer with an advanced analytics or computational biology background to help build and advance our cell therapy and immuno-oncology portfolio. This position will be responsible for working with the team to curate, leverage and build high-content datasets (eg; scRNAseq/CITEseq, scATACseq, scTCRseq, high-parameter FACS or spectral cytometry, etc) that permit the interrogation of cellular heterogeneity across an array of functional and dysfunctional states. The successful candidate will have working knowledge of immunology and expertise in the analysis of multi-omic platforms. This position is in a highly collaborative, innovate and rapidly evolving environment and interfaces with multiple teams and functions across the company. Our team's overall goal is to modulate T cell health, function and potency to iterate on improving the overall therapeutic potential of cellular therapies for BMS' Research and Early Development Pipeline. Responsibilities for this role will include, but are not limited to, the following: + Application of multivariate and/or machine learning approaches to curated datasets in support of the interrogation of T cells, CAR T or eTCR T cells in functional and dysfunctional states + Propose, devise and coordinate wet lab experiments and data analysis to inform next-gen strategies + Work with our NGS team to develop and/or bring novel profiling technologies in-house + Work with our Informatics and Predictive Sciences colleagues on adapting pipelines and extending analytics capabilities within our team + Provide cell biology and high-content data analysis subject matter expertise and guidance to cross-functional teams evaluating a diverse array of cell therapy engineering challenges + Leverage existing internal capabilities and datasets as well as be willing and eager to apply novel ideas from the literature and other disciplines to innovate in a rapidly evolving field + Help develop and mentor junior scientists on our team + Build constructive relationships across the organization and with our key business partners to achieve common goals Qualifications: + Senior Scientist: PhD in immunology, molecular/cellular biology, bioengineering or similar discipline with at least 3 years of successful postdoctoral experience as demonstrated by a strong publication record plus 3+ years of industry experience, or a BS/MS with 13+ years of relevant industry experience + Scientist II: PhD with 2-3+ years of successful postdoctoral or a combination of postdoctoral and industry experience, or a BS/MS with 10+ years of relevant industry experience. + Broad working knowledge of platforms and technologies to evaluate cellular heterogeneity including but not limited to high-dimensional FACS, spectral cytometry, CyTOF, transcriptional or epigenetic assessment, metabolomics, population tracking/time-series, and/or other single-cell approaches. + Broad working knowledge of multivariate statistics or machine learning analytical workflows (eg; JMP, python, R, MATLAB) + Computational cytometry and/or spatial analysis experience a plus + Self-motivated as an individual contributor but also excited about working in a highly collaborative matrixed environment + Excellent written and verbal communication, and strong organizational skills to facilitate managing multiple projects at once Bristol-Myers Squibb recognizes the importance of balance and flexibility in our work environment.
