How You’ll Make an Impact
The Tax Accountant will support Valvoline's Tax Director on consolidation and management reporting of Valvoline's global tax provision. Duties include documenting global tax update meetings, administration of tax provision software, preparation of supporting schedules through Excel and tax software reports, journal entry posting, general ledger tie-out, maintaining SOX documentation and assisting with quarterly and annual SEC reporting. Additionally, the position will assist in research and planning projects and supporting U.S. income tax compliance.
In the role, you would be responsible for:
Assisting in the preparation and SOX documentation of Valvoline's global income tax provision
Administering OneSource global tax provision and SharePoint softwares
Assisting with management reporting of quarterly and annual tax results
Assisting with tax reporting for quarterly and annual SEC filings
Assisting with preparation/filing of U.S. federal, multi-state, and local income tax returns
Assisting International Tax Specialist with global transfer pricing documentation
Assisting in the consolidation and reporting of global cash tax activity and full-year forecast
Assisting with tax strategies and other projects
What You’ll Need
Bachelor of Science in Accounting or related field
Minimum of one year's experience in corporate income tax, including ASC 740
- CPA or CPA eligible
Knowledgeable with ASC 740, US GAAP and Federal & Multi-State Income Tax Compliance
Intermediate experience with Excel, PowerPoint and Word
- Experienced with Accounting System (e.g. SAP a plus)
Experienced with tax software (e.g. SharePoint, OneSource, and/or Corptax a plus)
Strong oral and written communication, analytical, and critical thinking skills
Detail oriented and organizational skills
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
