The Licensed ClinicalSocial Workerprovides clinical social work services to patients and their families. Counsels and provides crisis intervention for patients, including assessment and treatment of emotional and behavioral problems. Being a Licensed Clinical Social Worker coaches patients on how to manage ongoing health conditions and provides therapy to help patients make positive behavior changes. Requires a master's degree of social work (MSW). Additionally, Licensed Clinical Social Worker typically reports to the head of a unit/department. Requires a state license to practice clinical social work.
The clinical Social Worker will work collaboratively as a part of our team. The LCSW will see adults and possibly lead groups in the future. The LCSW will conduct individual counseling sessions in the outpatient setting focusing on the following: enhancing coping skills of patient, providing diagnostic evaluation of psychosocial problems; defining treatment goals for alleviating defined problems; acknowledging and enhancing the dignity and self-worth of patient and family system; providing symptom relief; and evaluation of the patient/family grief response.
Master's Degree in Social Work required, or higher. LCSW preferred. MSW must commit to working towards certification as LCSW as this is an expectation of the job. Completion of Supervision hours must be completed within 3 years of hire. Licensure must be obtained within 8 months of completing Supervision hours.
