A DAY IN THE LIFE AS A SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

Working in a collaborative environment as a Software Development Manager, you discuss, plan, and build features into our product with the development team. You are responsible for collaborating with our project managers to build out project execution plans and ensure the appropriate resources are allocated to the right projects. You need a knack for solving problems, achieving goals through teamwork and communication, and getting projects unstuck. You will be asked to provide input on staffing, budgets, scheduling, and technical direction. Software Development Managers at RentDynamics have multiple direct reports and are responsible for ensuring the success of a small number of projects.

As a critical thinker, you apply your experience and knowledge to company problems. You estimate development tasks efficiently and build that information into project plans. Because you are a team player and lifelong learner, you actively participate in department meetings and continuing education. QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field
• 8+ years of work experience or 5+ years work experience and Masters in CS 
• 3+ years experience managing technical teams in an agile based software development process
• Experience architecting and designing Cloud based (AWS) solutions
• Experience maintaining and improving distributed systems
• Experience mentoring junior developers
• Proficiency in Angular, Python / Django, Typescript, HTML, CSS 
• Experience with C# / .Net Core
• Experience with MSSQL and/or PostgresSQL
• Experience with Twilio Flex is a plus

WORK SCHEDULE

The typical schedule can be flexible, but our Software Development Managers do need to be in the office some of the time during regular Monday-Friday office hours.
