Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) seeks a professional, innovative, and detail-oriented individual for a Software Engineering Internship. This is an opportunity to practice full stack software development as you collaborate with an innovative team of engineers building distributed data visualization and analytics software for the power system. The ideal candidate for this position will be able to work part-time during the school year and full-time during the summer.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Design and develop software used by both SEL staff and customers.
2. Perform testing on new and existing software. Document and communicate test results.
3. Develop and maintain knowledge in SEL processes and technologies.
4. Provide technical support to SEL staff & customers.
5. Follow and apply SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.
6. Understand. Create. Simplify.
7. Other duties as assigned.
Current student pursuing a computer science or related degree at an accredited institution near Pullman, WA
Ability to work part time during the school year and full time during the summer
Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills
Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
Background check results satisfactory to SEL
Negative drug test result(s)
Proficient in C# programming language
Experience with .NET Core
Experience developing web-based server/client single page applications
Practical knowledge of 3-phase power systems
