How you'll make a difference
Serve as a technical leader of a team building enterprise-grade solutions using established engineering best practices.
Work with various technology guilds, software engineering teams, and domain experts to build highly scalable engineering solutions.
Manages planning and delivery of a software delivery platform team
Provide hands on technical leadership to the team, including own code contribution.
Drive and facilitate innovation within the team.
Lead and contribute expertise to activities associated with defining engineering requirements, determining technical feasibility, forecasting (time, cost, complexity), and best practices to avoid pitfalls and mistakes.
Participate in planning to achieve technical and business alignment with team, leadership chain, and with customers.
What you should have
Technology enthusiast
Able to influence software engineers, app developers, as well as principals and IT leaders on technical direction/decisions.
Deep hands-on technical expertise in cloud based distributed software design and development.
Experience designing software architectures for scalability, reliability, security, and performance.
Prior experience as a software developer.
7+ years of software development experience including design patterns, data structures, test driven development utilizing Java, Spring, Kotlin, Swift, full stack JavaScript.
Experience with the SCRUM methodology for agile software development.
Must be a current contractor with Cigna or Express Scripts
Preferred Qualifications
Development experience in REST APIs and micros services
Experience with the AWS serverless platform is highly preferred (Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, API Gateway, SNS, Kinesis).
Deep knowledge of computer science concepts pertaining to algorithmic complexity and distributed/parallel computing.
Experience with managing people.
Experience with mentoring other engineers.
Experience with BigData is a plus.
DevOps mindset and experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Gitlab-CI, etc)
Experience working with container-based solutions (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, EKS, etc)
