As a part of our Engineering Team, the CADD Technician will work with our Engineering team to develop structural, bridge, roadway, drainage, and/or civil drawings from engineering notes, sketches, and/or detailed drawings to ensure each design meets what the client expectations. Design components may include plan layout, geometrics, and structural details for bridges, retaining walls, sign structures and flood control structures.
RESPONSIBILITIES Utilize a CADD workstation to prepare engineering drawings for preliminary and final plan sets Work closely with other designer/drafters and engineers to ensure coordinated design Apply standard drafting/design principles and theories to complete assignments Use technical manuals to ensure compliance with company policies and applicable standards such as the one employed by the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) Read and understand orthographic (2D) and/or isometric (3D) designs Enforce adherence to department CAD standards through performance of CAD peer reviews Produce CAD drawings in MicroStation and AutoCAD as required for projects Other duties as assigned
PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS Minimum of a two-year technical degree or certification of completion is required 3-6 years of CADD drafting/design experience is required Strong proficiency in MicroStation and AutoCAD are required Working knowledge of ProjectWise is highly desirable Strong communication skills directly participating as part of an engineering team as well as via the Microspoft Office Suite of tools is required Familiar with bridge plans including layout and detailing in accordance with CDOT standards is preferred Ability to set up a workstation
