Sr. Director, Human Resources (Development, Research and G&A) Human ResourcesBothell, Washington Apply Description Summary: We are looking for an experienced Human Resources leader to partner with our Research, Development, Finance, Legal and Corporate Development business units. This is a business-critical leadership role since it sits on the CMOs staff and helps organize and scale the Development teams as we prepare to bring to closure and submit for approval several late stage drug programs, including Enfortumab vedotin (EV) in bladder cancer, Tucatinib in Her2 positive breast cancer, Tisotimab vedotin (TV) in cervical cancer and Liv-1 in triple negative breast cancer. These efforts are critical as Seattle Genetics works to become a global, multiproduct oncology company. This leadership role will work with Executives in each of the above business units to plan and implement HR initiatives, align with corporate objectives, provide HR strategic insight and coach senior leaders for better business outcomes. You will act as a change agent by developing integrated HR and people solutions to solve business problems. You will report to the Executive Vice President, Human Resources and sit on the company's HR Leadership Team. Three (3) HR professionals report into this position. Responsibilities: This role will be accountable for all HR-related matters within Clinical Development, Research, Finance (which includes IR, Corporate Communications and Facilities), Legal and Corporate Development. Collectively, these units will have about 800 FTEs by YE, 2019. Key responsibilities will include: + Business Partnership - Builds strong relationships with executives within business units and executes key HR strategies and levers that are critical to success. Brings HR skill sets, knowledge and tools to the table and provides HR solutions aligned to the corporate strategy + Partners closely with Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, HR Operations and Training and Development to bring best in class resources and tools to clients + Talent Acquisition and Workforce Planning - Works closely with business leadership to identify staffing priorities, talent pipeline and recruiting strategies to win the war for talent. Develops workforce plans for implementation and participate in recruitment of leadership positions + Total Rewards - Works with Total Rewards to drive merit, bonus and stock planning processes, and coaches managers on market pricing, differentiation and compensation philosophy + Organizational Development and Talent Management - Leads talent planning at all levels of the organization, with a focus on development, succession planning and retention. Proactively facilitates change management and team building initiatives + Performance Management - Supports all levels of management by providing HR advice, counsel, and decisions regarding performance improvement and employee development. Manages complex employee relations issues + Business Acumen - Understands the business unit's deliverables, financial position, short-mid-long range plans, people, culture and competition. Has in-depth knowledge of employee legal and compliance requirements and addresses risk accordingly + Leadership - Reports to EVP, HR and directly supports four EC members (CMO, CFO, General Counsel, Corporate Development) and the SVP, Research + Sits on HR and business unit's leadership meetings as a valued member + Leads company-wide HR programs, policies, and procedures that advance the organization and/or business unit + Leads three HRBP's and serves as a coach for other positions in the HR department Qualifications: + The ideal candidate will be a highly effective, skilled HR leader with demonstrated ability to drive positive, high-impact HR change within a business; + Highly skilled SME in HR including talent acquisition, HRBP leadership and execution, total rewards and execution of pay for performance strategies, OD and employee development, talent and succession planning + Experience in biotech/pharma, with knowledge of drug development processes and clinical development organizations + Must be a business person first and HR professional second. Successful candidate should be someone who demonstrates intellectual capacity and professional motivation to understand the technical, financial and market elements of the business and mold HR strategies that make a difference + Should have the ability to inspire confidence, show courage, a tough backbone and ability to say no, especially when unpopular or against push back from senior people, and quickly capture the trust and respect of the leadership team, peers and all employees + The candidate should have at least 15+ years of HR experience, a significant portion of which should be leading HRBP teams. Ideally, would also have specific HR expert level assignments in one or more sub-functions such as recruiting or total awards Education: The candidate should have an undergraduate degree and preferably an MBA or other advanced degree, or equivalent experience. An SPHR or similar HR credential would also be desired.
